On our 90‑minute distillery tours, you’ll be guided through the fascinating journey of how a new distillery comes to life. Discover the story behind the build, admire the award‑winning architecture, and learn about the creative innovations that set us apart. As you explore, you’ll encounter our impressive mashtun, washbacks, and gleaming copper stills, while gaining insight into the sustainable practices we’ve embraced across the site.
Your visit also includes the tale of the Infinity Cask, a unique vision for the long maturation of Ardgowan Single Malt, offering a glimpse into the future of our whisky. To round off the experience, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of three distinctive expressions from the Clydebuilt whisky range, each revealing its own character and craftsmanship.

No, but it’s highly recommended to secure your place(s) in advance to avoid disappointment. Currently, we only allow 10 people on each tour slot, so planning ahead is advisable.
Our tour route is currently not fully accessible, but we can offer access to our shop and a visit to our accessible areas (lower distillery and warehouse). If you would like to discuss this further, please email us at [email protected].

Children (14+) are welcome to join tours for £6 each when accompanied by an adult (18+). Please be sure to book their space(s) as part of your overall booking.
Unfortunately, due to health & safety measures, we cannot currently allow children under 14 years old to join our tours.
Due to the distillery’s relatively rural location, public transport options are limited.
Inverkip Train Station is 1.5 miles away and would take approximately 30-40 minutes to walk.
There are also various bus options with McGill’s ClydeFlyer, which stops at Daff Avenue in Inverkip. This will require a walk of around 20-25 minutes.
Driving or getting a taxi is the most convenient way to get to us. If you’re travelling from the north (Glasgow, Greenock or Gourock), follow the M8, followed by the A8, and then the A78. If you’re coming from the south, follow the A78.
We have ample on-site parking, including accessible parking facilities. We also have electric vehicle charging points, but unfortunately, they are not yet operational.
Dogs (except assistance dogs) are not permitted in the distillery or on any tours. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our shop. Find more information here.
We kindly ask visitors to arrive 10 minutes before the start time of the tour. Please go to the shop to check in. Latecomers are not guaranteed their tour space(s).
Tours cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice will be given a full refund. Any tours cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
Unfortunately, we do not currently have a café on-site. There is no hot or cold food available to buy, but there are a number of places close by. Feel free to ask our team for recommendations.

Our Shop
A warm welcome awaits at our well-stocked distillery shop. Offering all our Ardgowan Distillery Company brands, including Clydebuilt, Inverdarach, Discovery and Exploration, there are many hidden gems to be found. We also have a Distillery Exclusive available: a Clydebuilt 2012 PX Hogshead Single Cask Single Malt, which can't be found anywhere else. Only 297 bottles of this exceptional whisky exist, so be sure to get your hands on one sooner rather than later. If you're interested in our Private Cask offering, we would be delighted to discuss this with you in our shop.
