Ardgowan Distillery launches £17 million investors fundraising drive

A new distillery with historic links to King Robert the Bruce has launched a £ 17 million funding drive – with leading independent chartered accountants Campbell Dallas appointed to advise.

The Ardgowan Distillery, located 30 miles west of Glasgow, secured planning permission from Inverclyde Council earlier this month and is now seeking investors to bring their ambitious vision to life.

Former Bruichladdich and Diageo heavyweights join Ardgowan Distillery team

Two of the whisky industry’s leading figures have joined the team of the Ardgowan Distillery, which is developing a bespoke new lowland malt whisky distillery by Inverkip.

Former Bruichladdich and Springbank director Gordon Wright has come on board as advisor on commercial development and sales; whilst global distilling expert Professor Michael Egan will review the new plant’s process engineering design.

Plans to build a new distillery near Inverkip have taken a step forward with the submission of a planning application to Inverclyde Council.

The Ardgowan Distillery Company has tabled proposals to build a world-class whisky distillery and visitor attraction on the Ardgowan Estate – with the potential to bring jobs and new economic activity to the area.
